Canada are off to a flying start in the 2019 Women's World Cup

Canada broke through a determined Cameroon defence on the brink of half time, thanks to a wonderful header by defender,Kadeisha Buchanan,to win the Women's World Cup group e opener 1-0 in Montepellier on Monday.

Canada dominated possession and heavily outclassed Cameroon but only breached the defence once from a well-rehearsed corner. Defender kadeisha Buchanan, later named the player of the match, arrived late to head in unchallenged.

The other two teams in the group, Netherlands and New Zealand, meet in Havre on Tuesday.
