Canada progressed to the round of 16 of the 2019 Women's World Cup

Canada had a 2-0 win over New Zealand on Saturday night to join their group counterparts, Netherlands, who won with a margin of 3 goals to 1 over Cameroon earlier,in the last 16 of the 2019 Women's World Cup.

Canada became the first non-european nation to progress to the last 16 with a deserving victory over New Zealand, as they completely shut out their opponent in most part of the game.

Though there were plenty of chances from the Canadians but goals from later announced player of the match, Jessie Fleming(48') and one of Canada's best player on the pitch, Nichelle Prince(79') sealed the victory and the last 16 qualification.

France, Germany, Italy and England have also progressed to the last 16.
